My daughter is six, and she still believes in Santa. It can be hard keeping the magic, and when she looks up at me with her eyes shiny and her face stretched, asking about the North Pole, it’s just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
She loves Hannah Montana toys, and she’s been begging for those and Disney toys all winter. She walked around with her list, hoping she’d be good enough to get everything she wanted from Santa. Thanks to Extra Stuff 2009, I found some cute little Hannah Montana toys and dolls, and a zippered tin tote purse to show her that she has been.
When she went to bed on Friday night after laying out the cookies for Santa she was sure that he would come through the chimney, and wanted it to be extra clean so that he didn’t dirty his red velvet suit. I told her that we had the chimney cleaned a couple of weeks ago and that Santa used magic to keep his suit clean when he went into the other dirty chimneys. She looked at me curiously, and I convinced her with some nods and an awed face.
She woke us up around six in the morning so that she could open her presents; she was ecstatic to see all the Hannah Montana toys and Disney toys she had requested. And her faith in Santa still exists. Till next year.
